8 THE BIGGEST KITCHEN DESIGN TRENDS FOR 2019

Every year, homeowners focus on ways to refresh their space and the kitchen might be part of the plan. Last year, the kitchen was all about everything, from the comfortable banquet-style seats to the two-ton kitchen cupboards, so what has dominated the cooking room so far in 2019?

For insight, we checked with some of our incoming designers to find out kitchen design trends that have reigned supreme. Whether the list of work you have to do includes a complete kitchen renovation or some minimal updates, the following design trends are worth keeping for you.

1. VINTAGE VIBE

We will continue to see traditional elements and shapes in harmony with modern designs in 2019. Think of natural honed stones, organic basalt tiles, hand-wrapped rattan furniture, and vintage-inspired fixtures and lighting. “–Patrick Ediger

2. COLORED CABINETRY

Many people began to put colored cabinets in the kitchen while away from all the white cabinets. Making statements and creating an atmosphere with the cabinet, such as using blues and greens washed gray or deep is in high demand. It is paired beautifully with fixtures and hardware made of brass and other contrast metals. “- Sara Ianniciello

3. CONTRASTING TEXTURES

In 2019, a combination of contrasting textures and attractive finishing touches will be the most attractive. Imagine a glowing backsplash with a highly polished Calacatta oro marble top, or a cabinet with a textured bronze inlay and a matte cupboard front with sandblasted wood for upholstered urban glamor. “- Katharine Pooley

4. PENDANT LIGHT FIXTURES

The hanging pendant statement will be important in showing different areas in the open plan space. Anchoring the dining area will be very important and sculpture jewelry, such as a pendant in the finishing touch with medieval Italian influence, will be popular in luxury developments. “- Katharine Pooley

5. TALL BACKSPLASHES

High backsplash wrapped in heavy veined marble like Arabascatto or Calacatta Oro will make waves in high-brow design circles. “- Katharine Pooley

6. CLASSIC & MODERN

In 2019, the kitchen will become a blend of classic and modern. People want modern facilities and integrated look, but they don’t want their kitchen to look old. This is the heart of the house and they want their kitchen to feel warm, friendly and attractive. “- Young Huh

7. MATTE BLACK

Matte black will continue to be the dominant end result for kitchen equipment, hardware accents, and even factory profile details. Black feels fresh as a crisp accent color in a brightly colored kitchen, and black finishes are a way to add some drama without completely darkening your kitchen. On the other hand, the lighting will be distinguished by the strong colors of the gems which bring the quality of the intimate living room to the utilitarian kitchen. “- Carolyn Pressly

8. USE OF WOOD

People increasingly seek connections from nature. It creates a friendly and soothing environment, and is a versatile and enduring material that we like. We see a growing desire for lighter, wider space, and wood is an extraordinary material to combine to achieve this. “- Chris von Eckartsberg and Hans Baldauf
